SEATTLE, Wash. — Mariners General Manager Jerry Dipoto announced today that the Mariners have claimed right-handed pitcher Walker Lockett off waivers from the New York Mets.
Lockett, 26, was designated for assignment following the game on Aug. 28. Overall, he appeared in 2 games (1 start) with New York-NL this year, tossing 8.0 innings and allowing 5 runs with 2 walks and 8 strikeouts. He tossed 2.0 scoreless innings with 1 walk and 3 strikeouts in his last outing on Aug. 28 during Game 1 of a double header at New York-AL.
