SEATTLE, Wash. — Seattle Mariners Executive Vice President & General Manager of Baseball Operations Jerry Dipoto announced today that the Mariners have claimed right-handed pitcher Domingo Tapia off waivers from the Boston Red Sox.
Seattle’s Major League, 40-man, roster is now at 34 players.
Tapia, 29, appeared in 5 games with Boston in 2020, posting a 2.08 ERA (1 ER, 4.1 IP) with 4 strikeouts and 2 walks. He made his Major League debut on Sept. 11 at Tampa Bay. From Sept. 16 through the end of the season, Tapia threw 3.
