PEORIA, Ariz. — Seattle Mariners President of Baseball Operations Jerry Dipoto announced today that catcher José Godoy was claimed off waivers by San Francisco.
Seattle’s 40-man Major League roster is now at 39 players.
Godoy, 27, made his Major League debut with Seattle on May 21, 2021 at San Diego after having his contract selected on May 20. The 5-foot-11, 200-pound backstop appeared in 16 games for the Mariners, batting .162 (6x37) with 1 double, 3 RBI and 3 walks. Godoy also appeared in 73 games with Triple-A Tacoma last season, batting .
