Mariners Agree to Terms with Outfielder Mitch Haniger

SEATTLE, Wash. — Seattle Mariners Executive Vice President & General Manager of Baseball Operations Jerry Dipoto announced today that the club has agreed to terms on a 2021 contract with outfielder Mitch Haniger. Per club policy, the terms of the contract were not disclosed.

Haniger’s signing leaves the Mariners with two arbitration eligible players on the club’s Major League, 40-man roster: infielder J.P. Crawford and catcher Tom Murphy.

Haniger, who turns 30 Dec. 23, did not play in 2020. He was placed on the 60-day Injured List on June 28 where he remained for the entirety of the shortened season.
