Felix Hernandez won't be the only player returning to the Mariners on Wednesday.
The club activated the right-handed ace from the 15-day disabled list and also recalled catcher Mike Zunino and left fielder Nori Aoki.
To clear space on the 25-man roster, outfielder Daniel Robertson, left-hander David Rollins and catcher Jesus Sucre were optioned to Triple-A Tacoma in moves that were announced by general manager Jerry Dipoto and retroactive to Tuesday night.
Hernandez will start Wednesday's series finale against the White Sox at Safeco Field in what marks his first appearance in the big leagues since May 27 because of a right calf strain.
