Mariners Acquire RHP Prelander Berroa from San Francisco

SEATTLE, Wash. — Seattle Mariners President of Baseball Operations Jerry Dipoto announced today that the Mariners have acquired right-handed pitcher Prelander Berroa from San Francisco in exchange for infielder Donovan Walton.

Seattle’s Major League, 40-man, roster is now at 39 players.

Berroa, 22, has made 4 starts with High-A Eugene in the San Francisco Giants organization this season, posting a 0.68 ERA (1 ER, 13.1 IP) with 6 walks and 16 strikeouts. In 55 career minor league games (50 starts), he is 12–8 with a 3.93 ERA (97 ER, 222.
