Mariners Acquire LHP Roenis Elias from Boston

Mariners General Manager Jerry Dipoto today announced that the Mariners have acquired left-handed pitcher Roenis Elias from Boston in exchange for a player to be named later or cash considerations.

Elias will report to AAA Tacoma.

Seattle’s Major League, 40-man, roster is now at 39 players.

Elias, 29, is 1–0 with 1 save and a 1.23 ERA (1 ER, 7.1 IP) with 9 strikeouts and 2 walks in 4 games with AAA Pawtucket this season. He has struck out multiple batters in 3 of his 4 outings, including a season-high 4 strikeouts in 3.
