Mariners Acquire INF Jorge Polanco from Minnesota

SEATTLE, Wash. — Seattle Mariners Executive Vice President & General Manager of Baseball Operations Justin Hollander announced today the Mariners have acquired INF Jorge Polanco from Minnesota in exchange for RHP Anthony DeSclafani, RHP Justin Topa, minor leaguers OF Gabriel Gonzalez and RHP Darren Bowen and cash considerations.

The Mariners Major League, 40-man roster is now at 39 players.

“From the beginning of this offseason, Jorge was someone we identified as a perfect fit for our roster,” Hollander said. “As a switch hitter with a long track record of success, he’s also renowned around the league for his work ethic and leadership skills.
