SEATTLE, Wash. — Seattle Mariners Executive Vice President & General Manager of Baseball Operations Jerry Dipoto announced today Mariners have acquired infielder Abraham Toro and right-handed pitcher Joe Smith from Houston in exchange for Rafael Montero (rhp) and Kendall Graveman (rhp).
Toro (#13) and Smith (#43) will be in uniform and available for tonight’s (7:10 p.m. PT) game vs. Houston.
“Adding a young Major Leaguer like Abraham, as well as the veteran presence and experience of Joe Smith is a move we feel makes us a deeper team today, as well as moving forward,” Dipoto said.
