Mariners General Manager Jerry Dipoto announced today that the Mariners have acquired outfielder Cameron Maybin from the Miami Marlins in exchange for minor league infielder Bryson Brigman and International Slot Money.
To make room on Seattle’s Major League, 40-man, roster, the Mariners have transferred RHP Dan Altavilla to the 60-day disabled list. Altavilla was originally placed on the 10-day DL on June 8 (retro to 6/7) with a right elbow UCL sprain.
Maybin, 31, hit safely in 47 of 99 games with Miami this season, including 13 multi-hit games and 3 games with 3 hits.
