Marco Gonzales sharp again as Mariners win another one-run game

The Mariners are now 40-23 for the season and 20-9 in one-run games after a 4-3 victory over Tampa Bay.

For the second straight night, they eschewed the comfort of an early lead to hang on by the fingernails for yet another win by the smallest margin.

Mike Zunino’s laser of a throw to second base cut down Joey Wendle as he attempted to steal, finalizing Seattle’s 4-3 win over the Rays on Friday night at Tropicana Field.

The Mariners are now 40-23 for the season and 20-9 in one-run games.
