Major League Baseball to Delay 2020 Opening Day By At Least Two Weeks

Mariners Chairman & Managing Partner John Stanton met with Mariners players, coaches and staff this morning to inform them that MLB has cancelled the remainder of Spring Training games and delayed the start of the 2020 regular season by at least two weeks due to the coronavirus pandemic.

Following his meeting with the players and coaches, Stanton met with media assembled at the Mariners Spring Training facility in Peoria.

“We all love the game of baseball, but this is a far bigger issue for all of us right now and we’re trying to work our way through it together.
