Cactus League play has yet to start—though that will change in mere hours—and, already, closer Edwin Díaz is opening eyes in camp. Speaking omn Ep. 011 of The Wheelhouse, GM Jerry Dipoto noted that Díaz has looked sharp early in bullpens.
On top of that, he looks a little different, too.
His comments, when initially asked by Aaron Goldsmith about word that Díaz has put on some good weight:
He looks terrific. To envision the fact that Edwin Diaz has put on a couple of pounds doesn’t take a whole lot. He still looks super skinny but it is a strong body.
