MIAMI, Fla. — Seattle Mariners President of Baseball Operations Jerry Dipoto announced today that INF Mike Ford has been traded to the San Francisco Giants in exchange for cash considerations.
Ford, 29, was designated for assignment by Seattle on April 25 after he was selected from Triple-A Tacoma on April 19, but did not appear in a Major League game.
Ford was signed to a minor league contract by the Mariners on March 16. He appeared in 11 games with Triple-A Tacoma this season, batting .317 (13x41) with 10 runs, 1 double, 2 home runs, 5 RBI and 5 walks.
