HANCOCK TOSSES 2.0 SCORELESS INNINGS IN 12–8 LOSS AGAINST A’s

PEORIA, Ariz. — The Mariners fell to the Athletics by a score of 12–6 today at Peoria Stadium. Emerson Hancock was sharp in his 2024 Cactus League debut, retiring all 6 batters he faced, striking out 3.

Oakland’s offense sparked early, putting up back-to-back 3-run innings in the 3rd and 4th to take an early 6–0 lead. They would add on with 5 more runs in the 5th inning to go up 11–2.

After a 4th-inning Mitch Haniger double moved runners to 2nd and 3rd with no outs, the Mariners were able to plate both runners after an RBI groundout by Luke Raley and a Luis Urías sacrifice fly.
