Everett drops Eugene 7-1 to even series

Eric Filia had three hits and drove in three runs to help the visiting Everett AquaSox to a 7-1 victory over the Eugene Emeralds to even their best-of-three Northwest League championship series on Monday night.

Game 3 will be played at 7:05 p.m. Tuesday at Eugene.

Filia’s two-run single highlighted a four-run fourth for the AquaSox. Filia also drove in a run with a sacrifice fly in the sixth.

Ljay Newsome went six innings, allowing five hits and one run. He had six strikeouts and walked none.

Kristian Brito had a two-run single in the first inning for Everett.
