It’s been a year now since Mariners general manager Jerry Dipoto and manager Scott Servais sat in the Ken Griffey Junior conference room at T-Mobile Park and explained their plan for the future to team chairman and managing partner John Stanton, owner and board member Chris Larsen and president and CEO Kevin Mather.
Following meetings with the Mariners baseball operations staff, during which Dipoto had everyone present fill out projected rosters for the next six seasons, it was determined that the best path to success involved what Dipoto called “a moderate version of a complete teardown.
