Classic Mariners Games: Félix Hernández Dominates the Yankees

In 2010, Félix Hernández joined Luis Tiant of the 1968 Cleveland Indians as the only visiting pitchers to ever work at least 8.0 scoreless innings while striking out 10 at Yankee Stadium twice in a single season.

The first of Hernández’s two such outings in 2010 came on June 30, as the right-hander tossed a 2-hit shutout while striking out 11 in the Mariners 7–0 win. When the Mariners returned to the Bronx in late August, Félix again fanned 11 while working 8.0 scoreless innings.

Hernández walked two of the first four batters he faced on June 30, getting Robinson Canó to fly out for the last out of the 1st to strand two runners.
