The Tacoma Rainiers secured a series win with a 7-5 victory over the visiting Omaha Storm Chasers on Tuesday afternoon in a Pacific Coast League game before 3,896 at Cheney Stadium.
The victory gave Tacoma (23-16) its first series victory over Omaha since 2008.
Starting pitcher Adrian Sampson held the Storm Chasers (21-17) to two runs on eight hits across 6 2/3 innings. He struck out three.
Catcher Rob Brantly had three hits, including a homer, and is batting .299 this season. DH Mike Zunino had two hits and is hitting .305.
