Big night by Gordon Beckham leads Tacoma to 2-1 victory at Albuquerque

ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. — Gordon Beckham’s fourth hit of the night, a single with two outs in the top of the ninth, drove in the winning run as the Tacoma Rainiers posted a 2-1 victory over Albuquerque in Pacific Coast League baseball Saturday night.

Kirk Nieuwenhuis doubled before Beckham deliver his game-winner. Beckham also homered in the sixth inning to account for all the Tacoma runs.

Casey Lawrence took a no-hitter into the sixth inning, and finished by allowing just two hits in six innings for the Rainiers (47-42). He allowed one earned run while striking out five and walking two.
