Ben Gamel hits a 2-run triple as Tacoma Rainiers win

The Tacoma Rainiers opened their three-game series against the Albuquerque Isotopes with a 5-2 victory in a Pacific Coast League game Monday night before a crowd of 7,267 at Isotopes Park.

Rainiers center fielder Ben Gamel hit a two-run triple in the fifth inning to snap a 1-1 tie.

Catcher David Freitas and shortstop Zach Vincej both finished the night at 2 for 4 for Tacoma.

Tacoma starter Austin Hutchison — making his first career start at the Class AAA level — was the winning pitcher. Hutchison worked five innings and gave up a run on eight hits.
