Believe it or not, there are just three games left in the Mariners season. It’s been a surreal ride, fraught with subpar play and the presence of Phil Ervin. Don’t get me wrong, though. The highs have been great (thanks, Kyle Lewis), and maybe, just maybe, enough to convince the team to try to get into win-soon mode instead of win-in-a-while mode.
Today’s game marks Justus Sheffield’s final start of the season. Sheffield came into 2020 with as many question marks as anybody in what promised to be a make-or-break season for the former centerpiece of the James Paxton trade.
