Tonight, The King is Here

Tonight, on May 28th, The King takes the mound. King Felix is 4-0 with a 0.51 ERA in his last 4 starts against the New York Yankees. Earlier this season the Yankees fans thought they would soon be seeing the King in pinstripes yet he remains in Seattle under a contract that is structured in a way that benefits both sides. Jack Z is building up the Mariners organization for the future and the King is very much a part of it. So, Yankee fans, tonight when you watch King Felix take the mound, enjoy it because that's as close as you'll ever get to him.

The Mariners are playing some great baseball and it's not in the conventional way. Just yesterday against the Yankees, they scored all 4 runs on ground outs. It was great to see that done against the Bronx Bombers of all teams too. Here is a team that gets all their runs on big hits from their overpaid stars and the Mariners come in and gut it out with singles and productive outs.

Seattle Mariners are gaining confidence and they have the desire to win collectively which many teams don't seem to have these days. There are no individuals out there on the field at Safeco but rather a team; a team that will fight for each other and for the city. It's a breath of fresh air to see for Mariner fans.
