Women's Tennis Upsets No. 39 South Alabama

SANTA CLARA, Calif. – In a match that was heated at times, the Santa Clara women's tennis team squeaked out a 4-2 win over No. 39 South Alabama. Sunday afternoon.

"That was a great win for us," said Head Coach Ben Cabell. "That's the highest ranked team we've ever beaten in the history of the program, so that's huge for us."

The Broncos snapped a nine-match winning streak for the Jaguars with the victory on Sunday to improve to 5-4 on the season. South Alabama falls to 10-4.

Doubles play came down to the last match, with Madison Clarke and Chelby Cooke downing Alexandria Stiteler and Monica Mitta 6-2.
