Women's Soccer Wins in Overtime at LMU

LOS ANGELES – Needing a win to stay in the race for the West Coast Conference title, Santa Clara women's soccer beat LMU 2-1 in overtime on Sunday afternoon. The Broncos fell behind in the second half but rallied to score two unanswered goals for the win.

Santa Clara (6-6-4, 3-2-1) held the upper hand on the offensive side of the ball, outshooting LMU (10-4-3, 5-2-0) 18-7 and putting 11 shots on goal to the Lions' five. The Broncos especially commanded the second period, attempting 12 shots to just four from the Lions.

"This was a huge road win for us today," Santa Clara head coach Jerry Smith said.
