ROSEVILLE, Calif. – Battling wet and rainy conditions, the Santa Clara women's golf team entered the clubhouse Monday after the first day of competition at the Sacramento State Invitational in second place, seven shots off the lead. The Broncos navigated the 6,008-yard, par-72 Sierra View Country Club course to a 601 total.
With rounds of 300 and 301, the Broncos sit seven shots behind West Coast Conference foe San Francisco at the 15-team event, which concludes Tuesday with a single 18-hole round which is schedule to tee off at 7:45 a.m. PDT.
Individually, junior Annie Freman and sophomore Kristin Le scored identical rounds of 74 and 75, and are within striking distance of first place.
