Walkoff Lifts Baseball To Sweep of Villanova

SAN JOSE, Calif. – Santa Clara baseball swept Villanova in a doubleheader played at Mission College Sunday. The Broncos (9-4) took the first game 8-2 with before walking off the Wildcats (1-13) 5-3 in 11 innings in the finale.

The win in game one was the 100th as a collegiate head coach from Rusty Filter.

Game 1
Plenty of runs and good pitching was the winning formula once again for the Broncos in game one.

It started on the mound with Brandon Gomez who made his first Santa Clara start. Gomez (2-0) allowed just one unearned run over 6 innings of work while punching out seven and not allowing a walk.
