SANTA CLARA, Calif. — Another scrappy contest Saturday went the way of the opponent, as the Santa Clara University volleyball team dropped its second match of its own Santa Clara Invitational to Fresno State, 3-0 (25-23, 25-18, 25-19), at Leavey Center.
Like Friday's match against Oklahoma, the Broncos (3-5) led early and late in the first set, but the Bulldogs (4-4) eeked out a set victory by scoring three of the last four points to win, 25-23. Neither team had more than a one-point lead during the first half of set two, with eight lead changes in the first 25 points.
