SANTA CLARA, Calif. – Emily Allen registered a match-best 20 kills and Maddie Merlino posted 31 assists and a match-high tying 21 digs to help UC Davis rally from a set down to post a 25-18, 20-25, 21-25, 25-15, 15-13 victory over Santa Clara volleyball on Saturday night.
Michelle Shaffer had a double-double with 16 kills and 15 digs for the Broncos (4-5) in the final contest of the three-day Santa Clara Invitational.
After Santa Clara battled to take the second and third sets, the Aggies used an 8-1 run behind a pair of kills each from Allen and Lauren Jackson to build an 18-9 lead in the fourth set.
