Three Baseball Players Selected in 2019 MLB Draft

SANTA CLARA, Calif. – Three Santa Clara baseball players were selected in the 2019 Major League Baseball First-Year Players Draft on Wednesday - pitcher Eric Lex was picked by the St. Louis Cardinals in the 27th round and outfielder Andre Nnebe along with pitcher Keegan McCarville were both drafted by the Milwaukee Brewers in the 28th and 36th rounds.

Lex, the 815th overall pick in the draft, posted a miniscule 1.07 ERA this spring, striking out 32 batters over 25 1/3 innings while holding the opposition to a .182 batting average to earn All-West Coast Conference Honorable Mention honors.
