WASHINGTON - Oladayo Thomas continued his goal-scoring tear finding the back of the net early in the second half in Santa Clara men's soccer's 1-0 win over American University on Friday at Reeves Field.
Just a couple of minutes out of intermission in the 48th minute, Javier Ruiz Duran sent a pass from midfield to a streaking Tyrone Kirunda on the left side. The speedy Kirunda cut inside the defender and from close to the end line, sent a pass across a diving Eagles goalkeeper Lorenzo Gordon to a waiting Thomas who one-timed it into the open net.
