SANTA CLARA, Calif. – A senior sent Santa Clara softball home happy Saturday afternoon in a nine inning 4-3 walk-off Senior Day win over BYU.
With runners on second and third in the bottom of the ninth, Kelsie Barnard stepped to the plate and on the eighth pitch of her at-bat, sent a 3-2 pitch to left to score Regan Dias.
"Today was a really good win for us," Santa Clara head coach Lisa Dodd said. "I'm so happy to send the seniors out on a high note. They are a big part of the change of culture and set high standards for the other players.
