MORAGA, Calif. – Santa Clara softball used a come-from-behind victory Sunday afternoon to take the first conference series of the season from Saint Mary's. The Broncos won the rubber match 4-2 over the Gaels after the teams split on Saturday.
Santa Clara (10-24, 2-1 WCC) scored three times in the fifth behind five hits and took advantage of an error to erase a 2-0 deficit. Ellie Fisher led off the inning with a single and a stolen base. Eleni Spirakis doubled to bring in the first run and Morgan Modesto singled to tie the game two batters later.
