ALBUQUEREQUE, N.M. – Wrapping-up a nine-game road trip, Santa Clara softball topped Stony Brook 13-3 in six innings and lost to New Mexico 6-1 Sunday afternoon.
Game 1
The Santa Clara (6-13) offense exploded for a season-high 13 runs and 18 hits against Stony Brook (1-10) in the first game of the day. After putting up a run in the first, the Broncos scored six in the second and three in the fourth and sixth.
In their six-run second inning, the Broncos had their first eight hitters of the inning reach via seven singles and a walk.
