ALBUQUERQUE, NM – Sophomore Hayden Shieh carded a second-round 9-over 81 at the Albuquerque regional of the NCAA Men's Golf Championships, putting him in danger of missing the cut to move on to the NCAA Men's Golf Championship finals.
The low five teams and the low individual not on one of those squads will advance to the NCAA Championship finals in Eugene, Ore., beginning May 27.
Shieh is 12 shots behind leader Jon Rahm of Arizona State heading into Wednesday's final round. But more importantly, he trails Texas Tech's Hannes Ronneblad, and San Diego State's Ryann Ree and Gunn Yang by four strokes for the top spot among players not on a qualifying team.
