COLLEGE STATION, Texas — Santa Clara track & field's Alex Scales saw his impressive spring campaign come to an end on Wednesday night. Scales posted an 800-meter 1:54.32 in the fourth of six heats at the NCAA Championships West Region Preliminary Meet at E.B. Cushing Stadium.
The San Jose native, who made his postseason debut, broke his own 800m program record twice this spring.
"I'm very proud of the progress Alex made this season," head coach Felipe Montoro said. "While today wasn't his best, we learned a lot and will be back in the future.
