SAN BRUNO, Calif. – Santa Clara softball first baseman Sammy Needham was named the West Coast Conference Player of the Week Monday.
Needham had a monster as Santa Clara went 3-1 at the Highlander Classic, picking up a pair of wins over UTEP and one over Idaho State.
The junior slashed .692/.733/.923 with three doubles, two walks, four RBIs, and five runs scored. She had three mutli-hit games, including three hits in each of the first two.
