The college basketball season will continue for Saint Mary's and Santa Clara after both received invitations Monday night to the Women's National Invitation Tournament.
The Gaels (24-7) will host Eastern Michigan (21-11) on Thursday at 7 p.m. at McKeon Pavilion. The Broncos (23-8), making their first postseason appearance in 10 years, will play at Fresno State (21-11) on Friday. Game time has not yet been announced.Saint Mary's is making its seventh consecutive postseason appearance."This team is prepared and ready," Gaels coach Paul Thomas said. "We are excited to play in a single elimination tournament."The Gaels were on the NCAA bubble all season before falling in the West Coast Conference semifinals last week.
