TUCSON, Ariz. – Sparked by a career-best round of 4-under 68 from freshman Charlie Watson in today's second round, the Santa Clara men's golf team holds a five-shot lead after two days of the Arizona National Invitational Tournament, competed on the 7,262-yard, par-72, Omni Tucson National Catalina Golf Course. The third and final round will tee off Tuesday morning.
As a team the Broncos scored a 287 in Monday's second round for a two-day total of 11-under 565, five strokes better than second place Nevada.
"It's better to be in front than behind," said head coach Rob Miller after his Broncos posted consecutive rounds below par for the third time in a tournament during the 2015-16 season.
