Men’s Basketball Edged Down the Stretch by Idaho State

SANTA CLARA, Calif. – Kelvin Jones finished with a career-high 20 points, including the go-ahead basket with 17 seconds left, to help Idaho State edge Santa Clara men's basketball, 68-66, on Friday night for its first loss in a seven-game homestand.

Jones scored the final eight points for the Bengals (4-3) who closed the game on a 27-11 run to erase a 14-point deficit against the Broncos (3-6) who had won three of their last four games, but went scoreless over the final 2 minutes, 46 seconds.

The 6-foot-11 junior center scored 14 points, with all five of his field goals in the paint, during the stretch.
