SANTA CLARA, Calif. -- Jared Brownridge hit a long, step-back 3-pointer with 2.7 seconds remaining to give Santa Clara a 64-63 win over Loyola Marymount on Saturday.
Brownridge's game-winner was the first field goal for the Broncos since the 6:47 mark when they led 58-53. A 3-pointer by LMU's Brandon Brown with 1 1/2 minutes left gave the Lions their first lead in over 13 minutes and he made 1 of 2 free throws with 23 seconds left to go up 63-61. After Brownridge's 3-pointer, the Lions threw the ball away, their 14th turnover of the second half.
