Long Balls Power Softball Past Pacific

STOCKTON, Calif. – Santa Clara softball clubbed three home runs en route to beating Pacific 8-1 on Monday evening in the rubber match of the opening West Coast Conference series.

The Broncos (7-30, 2-1 WCC) fell behind 1-0 after an inning but would score eight unanswered runs to take their second consecutive game from the Tigers.

"We had a fantastic team effort all weekend," said Santa Clara head coach Lisa Mize. "We got great outings from McCall [James] and Micaela [Vierra]. Our bats came alive this weekend, which is what we have needed. I'm very proud of our effort and focus in our conference-opening weekend.
