Late Run Not Enough for Women's Basketball Against Oklahoma State

LAS VEGAS – In the opening round of action at the Play 4 Kay Shootout, Santa Clara women's basketball fell to Oklahoma State 67-53 Monday evening.

The Cowgirls (9-1) led the entire way after starting on a 7-0 run, thanks in part to holding a 22-4 edge in points off turnovers despite just a 20-16 advantage in turnovers forced. They scored on each of the first six turnovers committed by the Broncos (4-5) for a total of 12 points.

Despite being down 49-27 in the second half, Santa Clara used a 14-2 run to end the third quarter and start the fourth to make the game interesting.
