HAYWARD, Calif. — Santa Clara track & field turned in strong performances across the board Saturday at the East Bay Invitational. Brennan Lagerstrom set the program's 800-meter record with a field-best 1:53.17 and Janie Nabholz outraced 55 runners at 1,500 meters with a 4:39.41.
Lagerstrom broke the previous program-best mark of 1:53.39, set by Robbie Reid at the 2010 Brutus Hamilton Invitational.
Spencer Fischer captured second with a 1:53.47 and Christian Raslowsky took third with a 1:54.16 to make it a Santa Clara sweep in the 800.
