INDIANAPOLIS – Santa Clara athletics set a department record with nine teams posting a perfect score of 1,000 on the NCAA's Academic Progress Rate. The previous record for the Broncos was seven in 2016-17. Earlier in the week it was announced Santa Clara also set a department record with 10 teams receiving public recognition awards for finishing in the top 10-percent nationally for their sport.
The following nine programs received a perfect score:
• Men's cross country
• Men's tennis
• Men's track and field
• Volleyball
• Women's cross country
• Women's golf
• Women's tennis
• Women's track and field
• Women's water polo
It was the 12th season in a row with a perfect score for women's track and field, the ninth for women's tennis, the eighth for women's golf, the seventh for women's cross country, the third for men's cross country, and the second for men's track and field, men's tennis, volleyball, and women's water polo.
