SAN BRUNO, Calif. – Santa Clara baseball's Blake Hammond has been named the West Coast Conference Pitcher of the Week.
Hammond was instrumental in the Broncos game one win at Pepperdine on Friday as part of a three-game sweep. He entered with the scored tied at 2-all and tossed the final 6 innings while allowing just one run on four hits and punching out eight. It was his team-leading fifth win of the season.
This is the fourth Pitcher of the Week honor for Santa Clara. Cole Kitchen won on March 6, Skylar Hales won on March 13, and Brandon Gomez won on March 20.
