SAN MATEO — Santa Clara University volleyball's Kat Georgiadis was named the West Coast Conference Defensive Player of the Week Monday for the week of Oct. 10-16 after she anchored the Broncos' defense in two WCC victories at Leavey Center.
The junior libero led all players in digs in both of the week's matches. She had a match-high 26 digs in the Broncos' five-set win over Portland on Thursday (5.2 per set), five short of her career high (31) she set earlier this season versus Tulane.
