(SANTA CLARA ATHLETICS) First-year pitcher Locke Bernhardt was locked in on Tuesday as he fanned 10 batters and allowed zero runs on four hits. The Broncos have won three of their last five games after a rough 4-21 start to begin the year.

Something must have been in the Powerade Tuesday night when the Broncos (7-23) stomped on Sacramento State in an 11-0 shutout.

Santa Clara’s offense came out swinging in the bottom of the first inning, cycling through 10 batters and scoring four runs.
