Big Middle Innings Power Santa Clara Past Saint Mary’s 13-9

SANTA CLARA, Calif. — Santa Clara baseball started off the scoring Sunday afternoon with its biggest inning of the season by plating seven runs in the fourth against Saint Mary's. The Broncos added five more runs in the fifth to break a 7-7 tie on their way to a 13-9 West Coast Conference victory at Schott Stadium.

Sunday's series finale spanned three hours and 36 minutes; it was both the longest and highest-scoring nine-inning game this season.

The Broncos (12-14, 2-4 WCC) picked up their first run on Jake Brodt's RBI double to straightaway center with one out in the fourth.
