SANTA CLARA, Calif. – Santa Clara softball was undone by a pair of big innings in a 12-5 loss to Utah State Saturday at the Silicon Valley Classic II.The Aggies (13-11) put up six runs in the fifth after briefly falling behind and added five more in the seventh pull away.
Makenzi MacFarlane had the big blast in the fifth with a three-run home run and finished the day with a pair of hits, two runs scored and five RBIs. Stephanie Reed also had a solo shot and scored a pair of runs and Gabriella Jimenez was 3-for-4 with two runs scored and two RBIs.
